Matrica joins the Decision Maker Panel of the Bank of England Matrica joins the Decision Maker Panel of the Bank of England

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Feb 2023

Matrica is pleased to announce that it has joined the Decision Maker Panel (DMP) of the Bank of England (BoE) and being represented by Dr Mark Earthey, its Product Strategy Director.

Matrica is recognised for its cutting-edge innovations in predictive analytics involving artificial intelligence and machine learning. The company has over 2 decades successful history in providing energy forecasting for the energy retail & wholesale, renewable energy and power networks.

Dr Earthey has over 30 years’ experience of energy markets, climate change, community energy schemes, and he’s particularly well-versed in all aspects of UK’s energy trading and risk management. Dr Earthey is also well-known for his forthright views on the current energy crisis.

As part of the BoE’s decision maker panel, we will be participating in regular panel surveys, imparting ideas on small-business expectations, and sharing information related to innovation and investment in Low Carbon Technology, community energy, and power-grid resilience.

The DMP makes a significant contribution to policymaking in the UK with the data being used to brief ministers from departments such as HM Treasury, and the Department of Business Energy and Industrial Strategy. The Panel is comprised of executives from small, medium, and large UK companies operating in a broad range of industries and is designed to be representative of the population of UK businesses.

Dr Earthey says that, “It’s a great privilege for Matrica to have been asked to join the DMP, particularly at a time when UK businesses face a potentially long period of high energy prices and inflation, and general political uncertainty. Through Matrica, niche energy technology companies and their clients will now have a voice at the highest levels of UK economic and technology policy making. The next few years will be very challenging for us all, especially during the transition from fossil fuels to renewables."
